AI 101

Build the foundation for working smarter with AI.

AI 101 is designed for public safety and administrative professionals who want practical ways to use AI without needing to become technology experts.

This workshop creates the foundation for more advanced AI training later, while still giving you tools and workflows you can use immediately.

  • Write and improve emails, reports, memos, and communications faster
  • Turn long information into clear summaries, checklists, and action items
  • Build SOPs, training materials, meeting notes, and reusable documents
  • Use AI as a thinking partner for planning, critique, and problem solving
  • Understand where human review and information security still matter
The Goal of AI 101

Leave with something you can actually use.

By the end of the workshop, you will not just understand AI better. You will build at least one reusable AI workflow around a task you actually perform.

That could be turning meeting notes into action items, transforming a policy into training material, drafting communications, organizing information, creating an SOP, or improving another repetitive task.

Practical Applications

What can AI actually help you do?

AI 101 focuses on everyday work, not flashy demonstrations that have nothing to do with your role.

Writing & Communication

Draft, improve, shorten, clarify, and adapt emails, public communications, memos, and internal documents.

📄

Summaries & Documents

Turn long information into key points, briefings, checklists, FAQs, action items, and easier-to-read material.

SOPs & Processes

Turn an existing process into an organized procedure, checklist, training guide, or reusable template.

🧠

Planning & Thinking

Use AI to challenge assumptions, identify gaps, compare options, brainstorm, and ask better questions.

🎓

Training Materials

Transform policies and source material into lesson outlines, discussion questions, quizzes, and training aids.

Repetitive Work

Identify repeatable tasks where AI can assist so less time is spent starting the same work from scratch.

AI 101 Skill

Stop using AI like Google.

One of the foundational skills in AI 101 is learning how to give AI enough direction to produce useful work instead of generic answers.

1
Context What does AI need to know?
2
Task What should it do?
3
Information What should it use?
4
Rules What must it follow?
5
Output What should the result look like?
AI 101 Workshop Agenda

1:40–2:00
Wrap-Up + What's Next Attendee share-outs, wins, Q&A, key principles, resources, and a look at how these foundational skills can be expanded in future sessions.
Hands-On AI 101 Workshop

Build a workflow around your own work.

The final portion of the training is not another presentation. You will actually build and test something you can use after the class.

STEP 01

Choose a Task

Pick something repetitive, time-consuming, or unnecessarily manual.

STEP 02

Map the Process

Identify what information goes in, what you currently do, and what should come out.

STEP 03

Build & Test

Create your AI workflow using the framework taught earlier in the workshop.

STEP 04

Refine & Save

Improve the output, save the process, and leave with something reusable.

Included With AI 101

Your $47 registration includes more than the class.

4-Hour Live Training

Practical instruction, demonstrations, guided exercises, discussion, and hands-on work.

Participant Workbook

Follow along during the workshop, complete exercises, capture prompts, and keep the material as a reference afterward.

Prompt Framework

A simple structure you can continue using to get stronger, more consistent AI outputs.

Your Own AI Workflow

Build at least one repeatable workflow around something you actually do.

Built to Grow With You

AI 101 is the foundation, not the finish line.

This workshop is designed as the starting point in a progressive learning experience. AI 101 focuses on the fundamentals you need to use AI effectively and responsibly today. Future sessions can build on that foundation with more advanced tools, workflows, automation, and organizational applications.
